This is an original and very large 1903 Atlas/Map of the Long Island City area in Queens, New York. The map includes P.S. 80 and Newtown Creek. Map covers from Newtown Creek to Van Pelt St. and from Newtown Creek to Nott Ave. It measures 27.5 x 37.5 and it is on linen. It is in Vg/Vg+ condition.
Each color represents the type of structure. is wood, pink is brick, blue is iron and brown is stone. The X's through the buildings indicate it is a barn or stable. Brown indicates stone structures. A circle with a "t" indicates a fire hydrant. The roman numerals inside the buildings indicate how many stories each structure is.
NOTE: Many of the original names of the Queens streets were changed in the early 1920s which will not be reflected on this map. Also note that the green lines indicate the original deed holders' property.
