*If you need different polarity, please let us know

These batteries give around 3 times the capacity & hence running time, of most NiCd types, without any of the "memory effects." This means that you do notneed to fully discharge the batterybefore recharging, so you cansafelyjust top it up.

We also offer a custom build service, so please ask if you can't find the lead or pack you need advertised. Even if we don't have it in stock, we can usually build one for you - just contact us with your requirements & we will get back to you soon.

We are happy to offer help & advice if we can - just contact us.

Important Charging guide : (Read before use)

Questions about charging are the most common things we are asked, so here are a few answers...
With NiMH batteries you DO NOT need to fully discharge them before recharging. It is perfectly OK
to just top them up after slight use.

The faster a battery is charged, the more heat is produced, a battery getting warm during charging
is quite normal & will not cause damage, but if the battery gets too hot, this could lead to damage.
We recommend that as a general rule of thumb the charging current should be no more than half
the battery capacity i.e. for a 2500mAh battery, it should be charged at no more than 1200mA.

For larger batteries such as SubC sizes & above, the charge current can be up to the capacity, i.e. for a 3300mAh SubC cell it could be charged at up to 3300mA (But not the first 4 charges)

These are maximum ratings, it is
always best to go a little lower than this - it will improve the life expectancy of the battery. A good figure to go for is a quarter of the capacity (650mA for a 2600mAh battery) The first 3 or 4 charges of any new battery pack should be carried out at a lower current, this gives the cells chance to equalise, around 10 - 20% of the pack capacity is a good figure to aim at if possible.

The use of an automatic charger is best, as this prevents any accidental overcharging, this is
what can damage the battery, as once the battery has reached full charge, the energy supplied by
the charger is no longer being stored in the battery, but instead is being turned into heat & it is
this heating effect that will cause the damage.

What is "Low-Self-Discharge" technology?

There are a number of sellers who will have you believe that this is "new technology" & somehow better than all that has gone before. Well here are the facts.....

This technology has been around for about 2 years - we have been selling them for that long.
The term low self discharge means that the battery will not run down after being charged anything like as fast as a conventional NiMH or NiCd rechargeable battery would. After being charged, these batteries will typically retain 80% of that charge after 6 months, and 70% after 12 months, this makes them ideal for applications where they receive occasional light use, basically after being left for a couple of months you can just pick up where you left off.
Sounds good? Well as in all things that seem great there is always a catch - this is what the other guys selling this type of battery don't tell you - due to a combination of them not understanding the product & not wanting to lose a sale.
There are principally 3 down-sides:

1)The batteries have a lower capacity than standard NiMH types - typically about 20% lower. If your batteries get used very frequently, these are not the best choice, you will get better performance from the standard 2600mAh types such as the ones we sell.
2)The batteries cannot be fast charged in the same way that conventional NiMH types can. We recommend that these packs be charged at no more than 1,000mA
3)The packs cannot provide the same current output as standard types, so this makes them unsuitable for motor applications, or other high current uses (although as a transmitter pack they are fine)

Hope that this explanation helps, feel free to ask us any questions & we will get back to you as quickly as we can.

This power pack is ideal for all manner of radio control transmitters.

Remember we can supply this pack with other connectors, or even with multiple connectors, just let us know what you need.

About Us

Component-Shop started in 2003 by the current owner Iain & his wife Natasha. With top quality products & service it quickly grew from being a hobby enterprise to now employing 5 people. We have our own 5,000 square foot warehouse on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park. From here we don't just supply goods, but we also manufacture. Our abilities include:

Battery pack assembly - we have professional battery welding equipment.
Custom lead assembly
Electronics assembly - we have an automatic pick & place component assembly line
Battery testing

Most other sellers are simply "selling boxes" they don't understand the products they sell, simply choosing them based on price, that is not our way. Having studied an electronic engineering degree & then worked for 11 years as a product development engineer in the telecomms industry, Iain looks at things from an engineer's perspective, i.e. having things that work as they should & fully understanding them is what matters most, so you can be assured that you are getting the best.
Our highly knowledgeable staff are always happy to answer questions, before, during or after purchase, we are only a phone call or e-mail away.

We are registered with the Environment Agency as both a producer of WEEE (electronic equipment producer) registration number WEE/BA4449YX and also as a batteries producer, registration number BPRN03979. There are many ebay sellers who are not registered & as such are trading illegally. Whilst buying cheap products from these sellers may seem like a good buy, as they were not trading legally your insurance would most likely refuse to pay out if you suffered any damage from a faulty product.

Payment

As standard, ebay will manage the payment, however, if you wish to pay by cheque or bank transfer, just contact us for details.

We can also take credit card payments over the phone, to do this simply check our contact information for our phone number once you have committed to buy on ebay by clicking the buy it now button.
