The Musee du Louvre is the most visited art museum in the world and is one of the largest museums in the world.
The Musee du Louvre or The Louvre was originally a fortress in the 12th century. The palace was altered many times through the Middle Ages. In the 14th century, Charles V converted the building into a residence. Eventually, Francis I, would renovate the residence and convert the Louvre in French Renaissance style.
The Musee du Louvre features nearly 35,000 objects dating from prehistory to the 19th century, over 652,300 feet. The Louvre is owned by the French Government, but has become more independent since the nineties. The Government contributes a big portion to the museum's budget while ticket sales and private contributions provide the rest of the budget. Two thirds of the paintings in the Musee du Louvre are from french artist and about 1,200 are from North European artist.

Montblanc honors the most famous art museum in the world with a precious skeleton limited edition fountain pen. The skeleton is made of 750 solid white gold and features a rhodium plated 18k gold nib with the name of the edition engraved. The Musee du Louvre reminds of the modern and classical architectural changes the Museum has gone through. The skeleton cap reflects the glass elements of the pyramid and the rings and top of the cap are adorned with patterns from the renaissance period. The Montblanc emblem in mother of pearl completes this magnificent creation.
