About Recycled Silk Yarn

This fabulous handspun yarn is soft, shiny Knitting up like a bulky yarn; it's great for hats, shawls, scarves, and bags Swatter.

It has a slightly fuzzy texture and a shine like lip gloss.

We offer recycled silk yarn or sari yarn and its fiber from the Himalayas.

This  color sari Yarn is by product of colorful saris that women wear in India. It is the loose end of saris collected from Industrial mills in India that is hand spun into yarn  by women's co-operatives in south India,  spinning and knitting yarn enables the women to earn much needed income from their cottage industry  . because it is handspun each hank is unique , the vibrant color and unique texture of these silk fibers and silk yarn are inspiration to Knitters, designers and artisans the yarn is suitable for knitting, weaving, crocheting, decorative tassels, patch work, and other needle applications.

Yardage: Since the yarn is hand spun, the yardage  varies from skein per skein the thickness and amount of twist in particular skein make difference in the total yardage, however approximately 70-75 yards per  100gm skein,
