Pair of Yuriko Takata lithographs, titled 'The Four Seasons' - Winter and Summer. We bought these limited edition lithograph artworks directly from an art gallery in London in 1992, gallery framed. They were hung in the dining room at that time and were very much admired. (Have since been carefully stored away for decades). In very good condition.

Vibrant colours in these contemporary depictions of still life, with these fresh interpretations - reminiscent of classic Dutch still life oil paintings and antique French botanical pastels. 'Winter' has winter fruits and azalea flowes held within a stone Romanesque fruit bowl upon a marble table, with 2 small butterflies. 'Summer' has summer fruits held within a large Romanesque glass fruit bowl, and 2 smaller porcelain bowls (1 bowl has a dragon on it), upon a marble table with some shadows & a small bee. 'Winter' is numbered '1/4' and has a Lion's head seal with 'Watercolors Yuriko Takata'. 'Summer' is numbered '1/2' and has a Shell seal with 'Watercolors Yuriko Takata'. Beautiful gilted wood frame, double mounted with 2 ecru toned borders and a glass front....(hence collection only). Original gallery hanging strings still on the back - so both ready to hang. (Winter has 'winter' pencilled on the top back, and Summer has 'summer' pencilled on the top back.)

Approx size EACH - framed:
 Height: 77.75 cm
 /31.1" inches x Width: 61.5 cm / 24.6" inches
