For sale is my 2013 Mercedes-Benz Vito Traveliner in the desirable long wheel base 116 CDI with a manual gearbox.
I have too many vehicles and projects and don't have the time or interest for sorting out the issue below, I am just a private individual and low mileage user, its a new battery and is always kept on a trickle charger to avoid it sulphating, I also run a bigger van for home renovations now and a big estate car so I don't need this van too.

The van is visually in very good condition, finished in black with chrome runners, 4 good tyres and spare, alloys etc, and 1 key ( however believe I have a spare but its overseas, if the buyer wants it I can probably get it posted to you for an extra £20). There is no major rust, just a few standard stone chips as you would expect and underneath is excellent too (no heavy or structural rust) It has sailed through its recent MOTs no issues or advisories, and has had some big jobs done
It is a very nice looking van with a great engine and the reliable manual gearbox, it looks very smart with the chrome after a wash and is very comfortable, it was valeted earlier this year.
I have looked after it well using only premium  diesel (shell or BP diesel only) and  no supermarket, cheap or standard diesel in my ownership, i have also used liqui moly ceratech and injection /fuel system cleaners as well to ensure everything was kept in good condition.
Happy bidding / sensible offers welcome.
Please note that I am listing this elsewhere and have various other interested parties, both trade and private so if interested please bid here early to register interest

I reserve the right to end the auction early, withdraw it, or sell it elsewhere without notice, however If you've left a bid I might be able to let you know before I do so, so you get a last chance (Ebay rules permitting)

Payment = Cleared funds in my bank account by cash or bank transfer only please
The Mechanical Issue (Please Read)
Although this starts and drives, unfortunately its got a coolant leak that should really be fixed before it is driven, I have now Sorned it off the road.
To be safe I am listing this strictly as Spares or Repairs / Non-Runner, sorry but no test drives for obvious reasons of course the buyer can drive it at their own risk if they wish once the sale is completed, or they can tow or trailer it away, there are plenty of local recovery guys here if needed
The starter motor has just been replaced with a new one and an engine flush, new oil and new filter, and I think they also replaced the little switch under the clutch ( a wear item on the Vito, easy DIY job in the footwell in any case) the switch just forces the driver to press the clutch in when starting the engine.
Service History & New Parts (Goldmine for a Mechanic)
I have a meticulously kept spreadsheet tracking its life during my ownership and some of the big invoices from the previous owner(visible in the photo gallery). I have most invoices from my ownership and the big invoices that came with the van from the motor dealer/previous owner in a bundle of paperwork.
Summary
This will make an incredible project for an enthusiast, DIYer,  Mercedes specialist or mechanic they are a great vehicle with a well deserved reputation for reliability and with the OM651 engine capable of doing extremely high mileage when they are properly looked after with regular oil changes (shorter than any Mercedes "Long interval" nonsense!) and the usual care of allowing the turbo to cool before turning off, allowing the engine to warm up,  using only the best premium fuels, regular filter changes and treating the underbody to prevent rust .

Please note:
All details are provided in good faith, this is a second hand car which is sold "as is" as a project for spares or repair, no warranty is given or implied.

I've had a few questions asking about the leak, I can't see where it is, and it would cost money to investigate that I am not willing to spend, however it could be the head gasket, that's why it's for sale as project, spares or repairs.

2nd November 2026 Update Apologies to all genuine ebayers, some Spam ebayers from Romania targeted the advert with ridiculous bids £84,000!! to ruin it, I suspect they were the same ebayers i refused "off ebay offers" using different ebay identities. All their bids have been cancelled, their ebay identities have been blocked and reported to Ebay so they can't do it again, I will keep checking and doing the same to any other spam ebayers who try the same thing. Thankyou
