Up for sale is an exceptionally well-preserved, authentic 1983 vintage Odie ceramic hanging ornament produced by Enesco under official license from United Feature Syndicate. This piece is a rare find for Garfield collectors with its two original factory labels and complete rubber tail. Many surviving examples are missing their tails entirely due to age and storage wear. This piece completely retains its original, flexible matte rubber tail with the correct, smooth factory-flat tip.

Condition Details:

- Ceramic Body: Excellent vintage condition. This 1983 original piece has no chips, cracks or flea bites. The glaze is bright and vibrant with no scratches.

- Tail: The original rubber tail is fully intact, flexible, and firmly attached. It shows no signs of dry rot, cracking, or hardening. The original heavy-duty adhesive used to attach the rubber tail to the ceramic body is still completely intact and in excellent condition with no yellowing or loss from age and wear.

- Bottom Labels: Both original factory stickers are present on the base. This includes the plastic “Odie” character name sticker and the iconic gold foil Enesco “Designed Giftware-Taiwan “ ribbon sticker. The stickers show minor, honest vintage wear with a bit of debris trapped on the Odie sticker where it rests across the bases molding hole.

- Hanging Cord: Comes with the original gold braided hanging cord which is neatly tied to the permanently mounted metal hanger loop on-top of Odies head. Each piece is in excellent condition and the metal hanger loop is solidly mounted into the ornament and free of any damage or weakness.

This piece is a fantastic addition to any Garfield collection. Whether it’s hung on a Christmas tree or displayed year round it’s a great find with the original factory labels and the pristine rubber tail!
