NOS Ampex AG-440 Tape Head Assembly (4020272-03)

Up for sale is an incredibly rare New Old Stock (NOS) tape head assembly block for an Ampex AG-440 professional reel-to-reel tape machine.

Details:

• Part Number: 4020272-03

• Format: Configured for 1/4-inch tape (2-Track and 1/4-Track).

• Components: Complete heavy cast-metal base, bottom multipin plug-in connectors, drop-down mu-metal head shields, and the three internal magnetic tape heads (Erase, Record, Reproduce).

Condition: This unit is genuine NOS (New Old Stock). It was kept as a spare in a studio inventory and has never been put into regular service. It still retains the original Ampex factory "System Tested" QA inspection sticker on the bottom. The head faces are absolutely pristine and show zero signs of tape wear, flat-spotting, or keystoning.

This is an ultra-rare opportunity to drop zero-hour factory heads into your classic AG-440 transport. Please review all photos closely to verify the pristine condition and track configuration.
