Oriental Brass Brush & Ink Holder, Vintage

This is a decorative brass brush holder with engraved flowers and leaves. It has a hinged lid and inside is the space for a brush. Attached at one side is a brass ink holder again with hinged lid. This piece is more likely to have been used on a table or desk as it has a little support underneath and if worn at the waist the ink would have been likely to spill.
The condition is good for age and looks to have had a historical repair.
Although the brush section, when fully closed, is a tight fit.

This would be an interesting example to have as a desk ornament or even as a paperweight.
