Up for bid is a fine pair of fiddle
thread pattern coin silver dinner forks by Frederick Marquand of Georgia and
New York City. The forks are 8 1/8 inches
long and together weigh 178.4 grams. They
have single die-struck fiddle thread handles, tipped backward. The forks are engraved with a fleur-de-lis on
the handle fronts. They are marked [F.M.][Lion][Bust][F]
Condition on the forks is
fairly good. There is knife wear to the
tine backs but minimal loss of length. There
is normal surface wear, and they not been buffed, though the fleur-de-lis
devices are weak. Some fine coin forks!
