Offering here is a remnant crusted, 1.71 gram piece of Bilanga Achondrite Diogenite meteorite, recovered after being observed on October 27, 1999 falling in Burkina Faso. The Bilanga is a classified Diogenite, part of the HED family and believed to have come from the surface the asteroid 4 Vesta. The Bilanga is unique being composed of native copper, troilite and silica-rich glass. The pictured specimen measures approximately 17mm x 12mm x 4mm and is mentioned in the "METEORITICAL BULLETIN" #84 (2000). A display case is included in your purchase.
