* Measures approx 11-3/8" square and 1" thick. The squares are about 7/8".

* Decorated on all of the outside surfaces. The bird and flower designs are raised up with very thick applications of paint. The entire box, inside and out, is lacquered and shiny.

* In vintage, pre-owned condition. Beautiful, but not flawless. There are scuffs/damage to the lacquer from use, particularly along the edges, corners and raised designs. The thick paint on one of the peacock's tails cracked as it dried leaving a crack visible under the lacquer. There is an area where the surface is damaged. One spot looks like heat damage and the other looks like lacquer drips. I've pointed them out in some of the photos. Please see pics.
