About Route 66
Known as the “Mother Road,” Route 66 was established in 1926 and originally stretched nearly 2,450 miles from Chicago to Santa Monica. The historic highway became one of America's most famous roads, connecting communities, businesses, roadside attractions, and travelers across the country.
The Route 66 100 Year Anniversary Gold Note celebrates this incredible legacy with a nostalgic collection of imagery inspired by the landmarks and roadside attractions that defined the Route 66 experience. Classic Route 66 shields and road signs, vintage automobiles, historic bridges, roadside motels, gas stations, diners, scenic landscapes, and other recognizable Americana come together to create a visual journey through the history and spirit of the Mother Road.
As Route 66 reaches its centennial milestone in 2026, this special Gold Note provides a unique way to commemorate 100 years of American road-trip culture, freedom, adventure, and nostalgia while holding genuine fractional gold.
