Hobby Boss is producing the US F4F-3S Wildcatfish in 1:48 scale as a detailed plastic kit. The kit includes over 110 parts and offers detailed areas on the fuselage, wings, engine and cockpit.

The F4F Wildcat was an important carrier-based fighter at the beginning of America's entry into the Second World War. The squat fuselage, the angular wing tips and the narrow-track landing gear were characteristic.

The F4F-3 was adopted by the US Navy; An order for 54 aircraft followed in August 1939. The production aircraft received four 12.7 mm Browning machine guns in the wings and were powered by a Pratt and Whitney R-1830-76 Twin Wasp engine.
