Offered for sale is a nice vintage 1971 (N1) Swiss Accutron 2182 'BD' Ref. 7084 Stainless Steel Watch & Integral Bracelet. This is one of a number of watches that were part of a retired watch technicians inventory of watches and watch parts, acquired several years ago, that I have begun listing here on eBay.

Accutron's model 'BD' has always proven to be one of the more difficult references for Accutron collectors to add to their collections, as it was a single year model, only being produced in 1971.  It's unusual asymmetric case design has also raised its collectability, in addition to its relative scarcity.

Mechanically, the Accutron cal. 21812 tuning fork movement is in excellent running condition -  since installing a new Swiss Renata 344 battery a week ago, the watch has been running steadily and keeping accurate time and day/date.  The crown sets the hands and advances the day and date, as designed.  Now, that said, the service history of this watch is unknown, so despite its good running condition at this time, I'm going to recommend that the new owner explore having the movement serviced in the near future, so that the movement's life can be extended to its maximum.

Cosmetically, the watch is in very nice, clean overall condition - the asymmetric stainless steel case (35.1mm across at its widest point) and stainless steel case back show signs of careful normal use in the form of small scratches/marks, but it retains sharp edges and corners all around   The case back is in similar nice condition as the case, with clear factory stamping (please review the photos posted with this listing for the best physical description of this watch.)  The original gray speckled cross-hair dial with applied silver and white markers and red cross-hair marking is in wonderful condition, as are the original matching hand set and silver day & date wheels.  The signed Accutron crown is in great shape, while the crystal is clear, clean and without cracks or fissures.

The integral stainless steel Accutron bracelet is in similar condition as the case, and features a signed deployment buckle that affords 7/8" of micro-adjustability, as well as 3 removable links, should shortening its length be required.  At full length, the watch will accommodate wrist sizes up to approximately 7 3/4" in size.

This is a very nice, well running example of one of the more difficult Accutron models for collectors to obtain.

Please review all of the photographs, as they comprise the most important part of the item description.  If you have any questions about the item, please ask before bidding; there are no returns on this lot (unless it's not as described in some way.)
