Offered for sale is a clean vintage 1970s Swiss Invicta W Swissonic Electronic (ESA 9158) Gold Plated watch.  This is one of a number of vintage watches that were part of a retired watch technicians inventory of watches and watch parts, acquired a number of years ago, that I have begun listing here on eBay.

Mechanically, this watch is in running condition - the Swiss ESA 9158 balance wheel electronic movement movement fired up immediately with a new Renata battery, and has been running steadily over the past week; the day and date turn over correctly at midnight.  It should be noted, however, that the watch is losing roughly 3 minutes per day. The crown sets the time ,day and date, as designed.  Given that the watch is currently losing a little bit of time and that the movement is roughly 50 years old, I would advise the new owner of this watch to have the watch serviced in the near future, so as to return the watch to truly accurate time keeping condition and to preserve and prolong the life of the vintage electronic movement (an ounce of prevention being worth a pound of cure, and all that ...)

Cosmetically, the 38mm wide gold plated case shows signs of normal wear in the form of small scratches and marks, but otherwise retains sharp lines, corners and edges overall, and displays no signs of any wear through to the gold plated finish anywhere.  The stainless steel case back is in similar condition with a few scratches and marks, but otherwise featuring fully intact factory stamping, strong factory graining and a clean, tight fitting battery hatch cover (please review the photos, as they form the best description of the physical condition of this watch.) The original gold dial with applied black and gold block hour markers and the day/date window at 3 o'clock, is gorgeous, as is the original matching gold handset. The crown is in similar nice condition as the case. The crystal is clean, clear and without any cracks or fissures.
