Offered for sale is a nice vintage 1960s Swiss Duxot 400 Ref. 7125 25J Felsa Bidynator Automatic Stainless Steel 20ATM Waterproof Diver watch. This is one of a number of vintage watches that were part of a retired watch technicians inventory of watches and watch parts, acquired a number of years ago, that I have begun listing here on eBay.

I'm not sure exactly when during the 1960s this watch was produced, but the case back of this watch is marked 'Waterproof', which helps date the watch to the early-mid 1960s, as by the late 1960s, the watch industry had pretty much universally moved to using "Water Resistant" nomenclature (due to emerging law suits around the "WaterPROOF" terminology.)

Mechanically, this watch is in running condition - the 25J Felsa Bidynator movement winds via either the automatic winding rotor or the crown, and once running, runs steadily; the date turns over correctly at midnight.  The crown sets the hands and advances the date, as designed. (I can't get a clear view of the movement maker's mark in order identify exactly which caliber of Bidynator is in this watch, but the classic right angle, y-tailed arrow stamped on the winding rotor next to the pinion clearly identifies it as a Felsa Bidynator of some sort.)  All that said, while the watch runs steadily once wound, time keeping has not been measured; however, as with all vintage watches with an indeterminate service history (and this one is over 50 years years old now), it should be assumed that a servicing will need to be administered in order for the watch to keep accurate time.

Cosmetically, the 36mm diameter stainless steel case is in nice clean overall condition, with normal wear evidenced in the form of light scratches/marks, but it otherwise retains well defined lines, corners and edges. The case back is also in good condition, with the primary flaw being a previous owner's initials that have been rubbed into the center of it (seriously, it's very shallow, almost like someone used the edge of a dime to mark it)  but otherwise displaying clearly legible factory stamping (please see the photos posted in this listing for the best description of the physical condition of this watch.)  The black and silver diver's bezel is in nice shape, showing some light scratches, and turns smoothly, without any looseness or "play" in the action. The black lumed dial with its date window at 3 o'clock and metallic turquoise minute track rehaut are in great condition, as is the original handset, which includes a very broad arrow tipped hour hand and a red hollow arrow tipped second hand.  The dial is beginning to show signs of aging, particularly in the color of the lume, which has toned to a dark tan color, matching the lume in the hands. The red on white date wheel is also showing signs of developing even patina. The large crown, which appears to be original, is in great shape. The crystal, while generally clean and clear overall, without any cracks or fissures, appears to have a fine layer of dust on the underside of it and would no doubt benefit from a cleaning.

The watch is mounted on the same black nylon Perlon-style pass through strap on which it was found, and will fit a wrist of up to approximately 7 1/3" in size in its current configuration (it looks like the band could be lengthened by about another 3/4" beyond where it's currently sized.)

So, a nice, running early to mid 1960s 20ATM stainless steel Swiss diver with a cool splash of color in its display, thanks to the metallic turquoise rehaut, for the vintage Swiss diver collector to consider.
