A wonderfully decorative vintage Chinese porcelain planter / jardinière, hand decorated with an unusual combination of botanical and insect motifs.

The white porcelain body features delicately painted flowers, bulbs, foliage, butterflies, bees and beetles in soft pinks, greens, blues and yellows. To either side are fantastic raised lion-mask handles with integral rings, picked out in pale pink and finely painted detail.

Finished with a dramatic deeply scalloped rim edged in dark green, which gives the piece a particularly striking silhouette. Further floral decoration continues to the interior.

There are remnants of an old red painted mark/number to the underside, although this is indistinct.
