Slight moisture warp is possible at any condition with foil cards. Cards can take on a light bow from storage or humidity without other wear. A light warp by itself does not lower the grade. Near Mint cards may have slight moisture warp only if it does not affect the integrity of the card: no crease, no split, no lifted surface, and no damage to the card stock. Warp that creases, cracks, or otherwise compromises the card is graded by that damage, not left at Near Mint.

Mint

Flawless under eBay’s own framing of a perfect card: sharp corners, clean edges, no whitening, no surface marks, and no handling. eBay does not offer Mint as a raw listing grade. The top raw grade on eBay is Near Mint or Better. Near Mint is not Mint.

Near Mint or Better

eBay’s top raw grade. Equivalent to a fresh pack, not a perfect card. Per eBay: minor corner or edge chipping only. No discoloration, no creases, no staining. Surface indentations and scratches, if any, are minor. A Near Mint card may show small factory or handling flaws and still meet eBay’s Near Mint or Better standard. Slight moisture warp is allowed if it does not affect the integrity of the card. It is not Mint, gem, or grading-candidate quality. Anything beyond the minor wear eBay allows is not listed as Near Mint.

Lightly Played (Excellent)

eBay’s Lightly Played (Excellent) grade. Light play wear visible on close inspection. Per eBay: moderate whitening or chipping on corners and edges, minor discoloration, minor creases, minor staining, moderate surface indentations, and moderate scratches or scuffing. Still clean at a glance. Slight moisture warp is possible.

Moderately Played (Very Good)

eBay’s Moderately Played (Very Good) grade. Clear wear. Per eBay: major whitening or chipping on corners and edges, moderate discoloration, moderate to major indentations, creases, and scratches (slight paper loss possible), and moderate to major staining. No liquid damage, which eBay excludes from this grade. Slight moisture warp is possible.

Heavily Played (Poor)

eBay’s Heavily Played (Poor) grade. Heavy wear, still inside that standard. Per eBay: major whitening or chipping, with one or more corners possibly missing and tears possible on the edges. Major discoloration and staining. Major indentations. Multiple major creases. Major scratches or scuffing, with possible paper loss, tears, or pinholes. Card is intact enough to identify and sleeve. Slight moisture warp is possible.

Damaged

Beyond eBay’s Heavily Played (Poor) standard. Includes writing or ink, liquid or water damage, rips, holes, missing pieces, or other structural flaws. These cards are either not listed or listed as Damaged. The specific defect is not named in the title or description. Use the photos to judge the card.
