The locomotive has been test‑run for 5 minutes in each direction at varying speeds on the rolling road, followed by running in both directions on the layout. Runs well with good performance.
Part of the Hornby Thomas & Friends layouts from the mid‑2000s onwards, representing Bill from the Sodor China Clay works.
