This Bristan thermostatic exposed shower combines a compact wall-mounted valve with a complete adjustable riser kit. Its polished chrome finish, rounded handset and streamlined design suit modern and traditional bathrooms without making the shower area feel bulky.
The package includes the exposed thermostatic valve, adjustable riser rail, single-function handset, shower hose and hose retainer. Rub-clean nozzles on the handset help make routine cleaning easier by allowing limescale and debris to be wiped away.
One sequential lever controls both the water flow and temperature. Turning the lever switches the shower on, increases the water flow and gradually raises the temperature.
This straightforward design removes the need for separate temperature and flow controls. It provides simple operation that is easy for customers to understand and use.
The thermostatic cartridge reacts to changes in the incoming hot and cold water supplies. This helps maintain a more consistent showering temperature if water pressure changes elsewhere in the home.
A preset 42°C safety stop helps prevent the temperature from being increased accidentally. The stop can still be overridden when a higher temperature is required.
Automatic shut-off protection stops the mixed water flow if either the hot or cold supply unexpectedly fails. This helps protect the user from sudden and uncomfortable temperature changes.
The adjustable inlet elbows accommodate pipe centres between approximately 110mm and 155mm. This flexibility can help when replacing an older exposed shower valve where the existing hot and cold pipework does not sit at standard fixed centres.
The riser rail also includes adjustable wall brackets. Installers can position these along the rail to help reuse or cover existing fixing holes, potentially reducing the need to drill additional holes into finished bathroom tiles.
The approximately 650mm riser rail allows the handset position to be adjusted for different users. Its holder supports practical height positioning, while the hose retainer helps keep the flexible hose organised.
The supplied single-function handset measures approximately 110mm across. Its rub-clean nozzles make it easier to remove limescale deposits during routine bathroom cleaning.
This Bristan shower is suitable for all plumbing systems, although reasonably balanced hot and cold water supplies will provide the best performance.
The valve operates from a minimum dynamic pressure of 0.2 bar and uses standard 15mm compression inlet connections. Performance and flow will vary depending on the available water pressure and the installation.
