British Railways Central Wagon Authority Keep Those Wagons Working BR Poster

--

📖 Item Description

Original British Railways Central Wagon Authority freight poster featuring the striking slogan “KEEP THOSE WAGONS WORKING!”

Headed “OUR CUSTOMERS WON’T WAIT FOR EVER!”, the poster uses a series of illustrated panels showing railway wagons, freight awaiting collection, road transport and loading activity to emphasise the importance of keeping wagons moving and available for traffic.

Issued by the British Railways Central Wagon Authority and marked “2A” to the lower right.

The reverse carries a period handwritten pencil annotation reading “Hull Load Shelter”, likely relating to the railway freight location where the poster was originally allocated or displayed.

An unusual piece of original British Railways operational publicity with particular interest for collectors of railway freight, goods traffic, wagons and BR railwayana.
