Two vintage street directories covering Lynn, Massachusetts and surrounding communities, sold together.

The earlier volume is Latest Lynn Street Directory, published by D. L. Macdonald Co., Stationers, 50 Exchange Street, Lynn. No publication date was found in the volume. Its street, school, municipal infrastructure and fire-alarm information are consistent with approximately the 1940s to early 1950s.

This directory includes Lynn fire alarm box locations and special signals followed by a detailed Lynn street directory. Street entries include cross streets and addresses along with coded information for paving, permanent walks, sewers and water-main sizes. The numbered street directory runs through page 104.

The second volume is Street Directory – Lynn, Lynnfield, Marblehead, Nahant, Saugus, Swampscott, 1966-1967, published by Jackson & Phillips, Inc., 24-68 Mt. Vernon Street, Lynn.

The 1966-67 directory includes separate fire alarm box and street directory sections for Lynn, Lynnfield, Marblehead, Nahant, Saugus and Swampscott. The index begins with Lynn Fire Alarm Boxes on page 3 and continues through the Swampscott Street Directory beginning on page 131.

Both are compact local reference publications containing period street names, addresses, municipal infrastructure information and fire-alarm locations. Useful primary-source material for Lynn and North Shore Massachusetts local history, property research and genealogy.
