Here's a terrific souvenir of the last days of AM radio supremacy...
This is an authentic 7" x 3.5" "Have a Happy Day!" promotional sticker for NBC's WRC 980 radio station in Washington, D.C. Dating from the late 1960s, the bumper sticker promotes the radio station that was first put on the air in 1923 and now, after a succession of ownership changes, carries the call sign of WTEM. (There is a WWRC in suburban Washington, but the conservative talk station simply copied the familiar call sign.)
In the '60s, as TV became the dominant medium and FM radio emerged as the chief audio service, WRC was among the last of the "full service" AM stations featuring announcers such as Mac McGarry and, at night, the Joy Boys, Ed Walker and Willard Scott - who would rush down the hall to co-owned WRC/TV-4 to do the weather.
This bumper sticker, dating from the late 1960s, will certainly jog the memory of anyone who was around the DMV and appreciates the area's social history.
Postage and handling are free, so what you bid is what you pay (plus any applicable state and local sales tax, of course).
