Here is an exceptional silver tankard in museum condition.
But with two points of contention.
The lid is unmarked, but I'm positive it was due to an oversight,
There are some scratches on either side of the hallmarks, but I believe they are assay scrapes.
The condition and the patina are too good to be anything other than due to treasured preservation.
The scratches are historic and there are no hints of any hallmarks in the lid. There are a couple of dings there but I believe they are due to errant planishing hammer marks
