1924 SALONIKA JEWISH MACCABEES HANUKKAH DRAMATIC GROUP GREECE PHOTO JUDAICA

This is a large-format photograph depicting a Jewish dramatic group in Salonika (Thessaloniki), Greece, dated 1924 on the reverse. The group is shown in elaborate historical costumes, with spears, shields and large Star of David emblems. The costumes and imagery strongly suggest a theatrical or ceremonial presentation connected with the Maccabees, very possibly a Hanukkah performance or celebration. The reverse bears a handwritten inscription in French, apparently referring to a dramatic group and an “ex-president / member,” together with the place and date. The Hebrew inscription reads "dramatic group". Good condition. Image size approx: 23x17cm. Overall size:36x24cm.
