    The locomotive has been lightly oiled and test‑run for 5 minutes in each direction at varying speeds on the layout. Runs very well with good performance.

    • The LMS/BR Class 4P 4‑4‑0s operated across the Midland and London Midland regions from the 1920s through to the late 1950s. They were widely used on secondary passenger services, suburban workings and cross‑country routes. Loco 40938 was allocated to Midland depots during its BR service life.
