For your consideration is a lot of components from a vintage, original, 1950s TIPP KICK table top soccer game by MIEG. All of the items were purchased in 1958 at the FAIX Toy store (Spielwaren Faix) on Elisabethenstrasse in Darmstadt, Germany. Included are:
- One "Toni" goalkeeper in yellow and black plastic
- Three yellow and black die-cast metal field players
- Three red and white die-cast metal field players
- One yellow and red plastic ball
- Three metal goals
The original boxed set was composed of two goalkeepers (the red one is missing), two field players (one yellow, one red) one ball, and two metal goals, the cloth paying field and nox. Given that, at that time, the game was not available in the U.S., and not knowing if and when we would travel again to Europe, my father bought me the additional components. He had played an earlier version of the game when he was a child in Darmstadt. Our trip there was the first time he returned to Germany after having been forced to leave during the 1930s. A contemporary description of the Tipp-Kick Standard specifically says that the basic game could be supplemented with “Ergänzungspackungen” — supplementary packs — containing additional material. I was eight-years-old at the time and all pieces are from my original collection.
CONDITION: See list of components in Description. The "Toni" goalkeeper is in very good working condition. The field players' mechanism works; they are well-used with chips and paint loss. One of the red players is lacking its white top. One yellow and one red field player are separated from their green bases. The metal goals are in good condition, slightly bent.
