William Soutter & Sons Antique Brass Spirit Kettle on Stand – c.1900

Antique late Victorian / Edwardian brass spirit kettle on its original stand with spirit burner. Believed to be by William Soutter & Sons of Birmingham (Soutterware), a well-known maker of quality brass and copper hollowware. Polished brass kettle with beaded rim, curved pouring spout, fitted lid with turned wooden finial, and arched brass handle with ebony / ebonised wood grip. It sits on a decorative Art Nouveau / Arts & Crafts style brass stand with the original spirit burner and wick-adjustment wheel.

Size: Height (on stand) approx. 29 cm; width approx. 15 cm; weight approx. 1 kg

Condition: Fully functional, no holes. A few small dents to the body, as expected with age. The ebony handle shows use and has an approx. 10 mm crack. General surface wear and patina consistent with a working antique kettle. Complete with stand and burner – these often survive separately, so a matching set is desirable. Please see all photos.

Attractive as a working tea kettle or as a decorative piece for collectors of antique metalware.
