About the Book

The book that described the Vaganova Method, the codified training system that shaped modern Russian ballet and influenced classical dance globally. Vaganova fused the lyrical expressiveness of the old French school, the athletic virtuosity and footwork of the Italian school (Enrico Cecchetti), and the dramatic vigour of the Russian style into a unified, highly scientific curriculum. Rather than treating movements as isolated tricks, the book outlines a holistic system where every exercise systematically builds upon the previous one, engaging the entire body simultaneously.

Condition

The book is in very good condition. The dustwrapper has some loss to the head of the spine and some light abrasions. Previous owner's name scored through to the ffep.
