Collection grade, fluorescent, tenebrescent, and phosphorescent Sodalite var Hackmanite (orange and pink in long wave, purple-red and lavender-white in short wave) and Phlogopite Mica (no UV reaction) in Dolomite (pale white-yellow in long wave) matrix mineral specimen (0.22kg).

This Hackmanite specimen demonstrates orange and pink fluorescence in the long wave UV light, purple-red and lavender-white fluorescence in the short wave UV light, tenebrescence (ability to change colour after illumination with the UV light), and phosphorescence. The phosphorescent afterglow is stronger after illumination with a focused beam short wave UV light and is well visible for about a minute in complete darknessWatch the video for more details. Camera is not able to capture long lasting afterglow the same way the human eye can.

When left in dark or indoors for prolonged duration (hours to days) the purple colour will fade! However, it is very easy to restore the deep purple colour by exposing the specimen to UV light, meaning the colour change is reversible.
