From Choderlos de Laclos’s Les Liaisons Dangereuses in the “Collection Lotus” (Éditions Nilsson, Paris, c.1928), with 1920s stencil-and-watercolour illustrations by Maurice Berty. The hushed, intimate staging suits Laclos’s tale of whispered seductions and dangerous letters.
