Hornby OO Gauge rake of 14 Shell petroleum tank wagons, all R020 type. These have been heavily dirtied/weathered, giving a realistic industrial appearance suitable for steam‑era and early diesel layouts. Bodies and chassis present well with free‑running wheelsets. Standard tension‑lock couplings throughout.
Ideal for long refinery or depot trip workings.
Shell petroleum tank wagons of this type were widely used from the 1930s through to the 1970s across most regions of the UK. They typically operated in medium‑length rakes between refineries, distribution terminals and industrial sites. Weathered tanks were extremely common in service due to constant exposure to oil, grime and yard conditions. Suitable for steam and early diesel operation on British Railways.
