Set of 11 vintage French knife rests (porte-couteaux) in glazed barbotine ceramic (French majolica / faience style). Each rest has a deep oxblood-red glaze and a hand-modelled trompe l'oeil vegetable or fruit on top.

The set of 11 includes:

Dimensions: each knife rest approx. 10 cm long x 2.5 cm wide.

Use: originally made to rest knife blades and keep the tablecloth clean. Also lovely as a decorative collection or a gift for a lover of French tableware, gardening or cooking.

Condition: good vintage condition with light wear consistent with age. IMPORTANT: one knife rest has a small repair to the side. It is not visible when the piece is in use. All other pieces are sound. Please see all photos as they form part of the description.
