An unusual vintage silver-mounted Royal commemorative pendant, produced to commemorate the Silver Wedding Anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
The front features an attractive hand-coloured design with the intertwined initials “EP”, surmounted by a crown and surrounded by decorative floral detailing.
Around the edge is inscribed:
ELIZABETH AND PHILIP
20 NOVEMBER 1947–1972
commemorating 25 years since their wedding on 20 November 1947.
The reverse is particularly striking, featuring a raised gold-coloured profile portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, set against a rich translucent deep red background, with the surrounding legend:
ELIZABETH II D.G. REG. F.D.
The circular piece is held within an attractive decorative silver mount with scrollwork above and a suspension loop. The edge of the mount is clearly stamped “SILVER”, as shown in the photographs.
Good vintage condition overall with age-related surface wear, marks and tarnishing to the silver mount. There are some signs of age to the decorative surfaces commensurate with a piece now over 50 years old. Please study all photographs carefully as they form an important part of the description.
