A wonderfully unusual antique sash pin featuring an intricately detailed winged dragon surrounded by scrolling foliage and dimensional flowers. A three-dimensional bee rests among the flowers, giving this striking piece an especially whimsical and mysterious character.

The large oval brooch is crafted in gold-tone brass with an openwork design and substantial relief. It retains its original-style long pin stem and open C-clasp, consistent with sash pins made during the late Victorian to early 20th-century period.

This is an unsigned piece.

Measurements: Approximately 3” x 2”

Condition: Antique condition with age-related surface wear, darkening, patina, and areas of green verdigris. There is darkened metal and old solder or adhesive residue around the bee, which may indicate an old repair or that the bee was added later. The pin stem shows discoloration but remains functional. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they are an important part of the condition description.

A fascinating statement piece for collectors of antique jewelry, figural brooches, dragons, insects, Victorian revival jewelry, or unusual sash pins.
