Old-Time album (1890) with unusual contents - stamp collages etc.
An unusual old-time album, in distressed condition, formerly belonging to a Mr John Uglow, and gifted to his nephew Mr Edward Picken Uglow on march 17th 1890. With interestingly arranged ranges of Queen Victorian stamps from Great Britain and the world, including France and Russia. After school, Edward had travelled widely - in Paris during the Franco-Prussian war, St Petersburg and Moscow in 1870 as well as to South Africa. Many of the stamps in the album have been arranged as stamp art mosaics / collages. A most interesting album, condition is poor with loose and detached pages etc..
