ANTIQUE TIBETAN PEGAM, circa or pre 1900, Low Level Scripture table

This rare low level scripture table, called a Pegam, was used by high level Tibetan Monks to study and store religious texts.

The table is made entirely of wood with a wooden hinge system allowing the doors to be removed. It is heavily decorated with natural pigments and paints.

Condition - There is considerable wear to the surfaces as would be expected from use and age. There is an old dent to the wood on the lower front rail. Otherwise it is a sturdy and functional piece of furniture
