I recently managed to acquire a small collection of silver agricultural prize medals and I am now putting these medals up for sale.
This item is:
Large late Victorian sterling silver Scottish agricultural prize medal relating to the small village of Killearn (pop: 1,910) in the Stirling region of Scotland.
The front of the medal is engraved:
"KILLEARN Agricultural Association SHOW 1902. SPECIAL PRIZE. Presented by Speedie Bros. FOR (blank). WON BY (blank)"
The obverse is not engraved.
Sterling Silver Medal: Weight: 37.2 gm. Width: 50 mm. Height (excluding ring): 70 mm. Hall Mark: Birmingham 1901. Maker's Mark: William Adams Ltd.
Summary: Early agricultural medals are highly collectable & this is a superb example. I am happy to start the listing at just £65 but I have included a Buy it Now option if a buyer is not prepared to wait. Good luck!
