Here is one for the connoisseur who appreciates the charm of a Dinky Toy which is perhaps seventy five years old, the paintwork which is original, has some age and playwear. For further guidance to condition please browse my photos. The No.40A was introduced in 1947 with crimped axle ends and small letters on the baseplate, domed axle ends were introduced c.1950. In 1954 the number was changed to 158 but Dinky used baseplates with still using the number 40A and later baseplates had large lettering - so this particular model was probably made c.1958-60 and sold as a no.158 - I think!
