Up for sale is a beautiful, authentic piece of American metalwork history from the early 1900s. This antique Art Nouveau footed jewelry casket was manufactured by the renowned Brainard & Wilson (B&W) company out of Danbury, Connecticut.This specific piece is Model No. 136, clearly stamped on the underside above the official B&W oval hallmark logo.
Design & Features: Motif: Gorgeous, highly detailed raised repoussé floral design featuring prominent roses and flowing leaves on both the lid and body.
Style: Classic, organic Art Nouveau lines with four ornate, sweeping feet.
Exterior Finish: Beautiful, deep dark antique silver-toned patina that highlights the incredible depth of the metalwork.
Interior Lining: Rare find! Features the original fabric lining and twisted cord border.
Condition Details: Exterior: Excellent antique condition. The metal has a wonderful aged patina. The rear hinge is strong, operates smoothly, and the lid aligns perfectly. All four feet are sturdy and even.
Interior: The original interior silk lining is beautifully preserved. Please note there is visible yellowing, staining and small holes and fraying consistent with its 120-year age (see photos for details).
