I was fortunate recently to be able to acquire a good collection of antique & vintage sterling silver cycling prize fob medals dating from the 1890s up to the 1960s. I am now putting these medals up for auction at very reasonable starting prices (ofter below the sterling silver scrap price) but with a Buy it Now option for anyone who does not wish to wait.
This example is:
A sterling silver & enamel cycling fob medal from the 1930s.
The front of the medal has a raised central shield in blue & white enamel. Picked out in dark blue enamel it is embossed:
"BELLINGHAM WHEELERS CC"
The obverse is engraved:
"12 HOURS. C.B. GARWOOD. 203 MILES. 2.9.34"
Sterling Silver Medal: Weight: 12.2 gm. Width: 25 mm. Height (excluding ring): 30 mm. Hall Mark: Birmingham 1934. Maker's Mark: Dance & Duerden.
Summary: As can be seen from the photos this is an attractive & collectable vintage sterling silver cycling fob medal. Good luck!
NOTE: Please see my other listings of sterling silver cycling medals. If more than one medal is purchased please wait until you receive an invoice before paying as I am happy to combine postage.
