I was fortunate recently to be able to acquire a good collection of antique & vintage sterling silver cycling prize fob medals dating from the 1890s up to the 1960s. I am now putting these medals up for auction at very reasonable starting prices (ofter below the sterling silver scrap price) but with a Buy it Now option for anyone who does not wish to wait.
This example is:
A sterling silver & enamel cycling fob medal from the 1930s.
The front of the medal depicts the City of Lincoln Crest on a raised central shield picked out in red & white enamel. Picked out in dark blue enamel it is embossed:
"LINCOLN CO-OP CYCLING CLUB"
The obverse is engraved:
"H. WHALEY. 2nd FST. CLUB 25. 1-9-5 1939"
Sterling Silver Medal: Weight: 12.9 gm. Width: 29 mm. Height (excluding ring): 38 mm. Hall Mark: Birmingham 1934. Maker's Mark: Fattorin & Sons.
Summary: As can be seen from the photos this is an attractive & collectable vintage sterling silver cycling fob medal. Good luck!
NOTE: Please see my other listings of sterling silver cycling medals. If more than one medal is purchased please wait until you receive an invoice before paying as I am happy to combine postage.
