This listing is for a vintage Brilhart alto saxophone mouthpiece. It is a Carlsbad, CA era Brilhart, with the serial number 122157 on the side. This is the "Hard Rubber" model. The "Hard Rubber" differs substantially from the standard Brilhart models, not only in terms of its material, but also its inner dimensions. It has deeply scooped inner side walls and a large round chamber. These are made of excellent quality rubber, with an extremely resonant quality. Many consider these to be among the best hard rubber mouthpieces ever produced! This one is a 3*, and the tip opening measures in at .072".
This mouthpiece is in very good used condition. It looks like the baffle might have been tweaked slightly, but the facing is all original and perfectly smooth. There are no tooth indentations on the beak. There are no cracks or other damage. There is barely a scratch on it. The rubber is still black and shiny, and the logo/markings are clear. This mouthpiece has been cleaned and sanitized.
