Vintage Native American Southwestern Silver & Turquoise & Sunstone Necklace 9".
Selling for a relative.
I had this checked out by a local rock/mineral shop whose owner is both a geologist and a jeweler, to verify the whether the stones are authentic. Both the beautiful Sunstone and the Turquoise are real. He also said that most of the beads are silver. He did note a couple of differently styled beads appeared newer and added that the necklace most likely had been re-strung/rewired at some time. It was his opinion that the threaded type of fastener/clasp (barrel clasp??) was not original.
While fastened, the the necklace has right around a 7" length. Total length of almost 9".
With these necklaces, the Turquoise usually grabs the most attention, but I think it's the Sunstone that does it for this one. The way the sparkle in the Sunstone comes alive in strong light is really cool. My opinion of course.
