This auction is for a vintage baseball bat. Bat is approximately 32" in length. Based on the length, it is a probably a soft ball bat. Major League bats are longer. Bat is made of wood. It used . There are no markings or numbers on to determine when it was made. Contains a star logo and the wording "Star Brand Shoes are Better". Depending on when it was issued, research shows that this bat was either given way free or cost $ .50 when a pair of shoes was purchased. Research also shows that this made somewhere in the 1920's. There is no specified date but it states circa 1928 and there is an advertisment from 1928 stating that you can get these bat for free for a week with a purchase of a set of shoes. There is another advertisment that states you can get a bat and ball for $ .50 with the purchase of a set of shoes. Bat has been used. There are cracks in the wood and some chips out of it. The name Leon W has been carved into it. Logo in the center of the bat is clearly visible. Item would make an excellent addition to your sports memorabilia collection.
