This is a paper reproduction of a rare American System of Dressmaking tailor's square from 1911. Both side of the square are included and printed in full color. Note that there are no printed instruction booklets included with this tool. There are however some included with the PDF version. Rather have a PDF version to print at home? Find that here. This was used as a tool for sewing pattern drafting and is still quite as useful today as it was a hundred years ago. This tool is also likely the basis on which Mary Brooks Picken based her famous Picken Square, as she taught at The American College of Dressmaking after this square was designed. Many dressmaker's books from the late 1800s to early 1900s called for the use of a tailor's square-shaped like this one and you may find it useful in your historical sewing pattern drafting. This printed reproduction includes both the front and back of the tool. All you will need to do is glue each side of the tool to a stiff piece of poster board and cut it out. We have been professionally reproducing vintage patterns and books since 2008 and are very proud to offer very high-quality, digitally drafted, historically accurate reproductions. ©2022 Mrs. Depew Vintage LLC.
