Vintage Ornate Rose Flower Spoon – Silver Tone Decorative Collectable Cutlery – Floral Handle

A very attractive vintage decorative spoon featuring an elaborate three-dimensional rose and leaf design to the handle.

This is an unusual and highly decorative piece of vintage cutlery, with considerably more detail than a standard teaspoon or serving spoon.

The most striking feature is the ornate floral handle. The lower section has been formed into a large raised rose flower surrounded by individually detailed leaves and stems, creating an almost sculptural appearance.

Further floral detailing continues along the stem of the spoon, while small raised rose motifs decorate the lower edge of the bowl.

The spoon has a bright silver-coloured / silver-tone finish which contrasts beautifully with the deeper areas of the embossed floral decoration.

The reverse of the handle carries a manufacturer's / maker's marking which appears to read "ANITLO 100" or similar. I have not been able to confidently identify the manufacturer from the marking, so it is being described exactly as photographed rather than attributing it to a particular maker.

The spoon has an unusual broad, rounded and slightly shovel-shaped bowl rather than the more elongated shape normally associated with an everyday teaspoon.

Because of the decorative floral construction and unusual bowl shape, this could potentially have been produced as a decorative serving spoon, sugar spoon, preserve spoon, condiment spoon or similar specialist piece of tableware.

CONDITION:

Vintage pre-owned condition with visible signs of age and previous use.

There are surface scratches, fine marks, rubbing and general cosmetic wear to the spoon bowl and other areas of the metal, as would be expected from an older piece of used tableware.

Some areas of the ornate decoration have naturally darkened, particularly within the recessed sections of the rose, leaves and floral detailing. This gives the decoration good definition and may be a combination of age, tarnish and the original finish.

There may also be areas of discolouration, tarnishing and wear to the silver-coloured finish.

I have NOT described this as solid silver because I cannot see a recognised silver hallmark in the photographs.

The visible marking on the reverse appears to read "ANITLO 100" or similar, but this has not been independently authenticated or identified.

For that reason the item is being sold simply as a vintage silver-tone decorative spoon.

No obvious major breakage can be seen and the ornate rose and leaf decoration appears intact.
