1815 copper One Stiver and One Half Stiver coins issued for British Ceylon under King George III.


Obverse:

Features a laureate portrait of King George III facing right with the Latin inscription GEORGIUS III D:G: BRITANNIARUM REX.


Reverse:

Displays an elephant standing to the left above the date 1815, alongside the denomination text (ONE STIVER and ONE HALF STIVER).


History: Struck at the Royal Mint in London during early British colonial rule in what is now Sri Lanka, as part of the Ceylonese rixdollar currency system.
