The Great Twin Falls Canal System, operational around 1905–1907, was a transformative Carey Act project that brought irrigation to over 200,000 acres of southern Idaho's desert, driven by investor I.B. Perrine. The system, anchored by the Milner Dam, enabled rapid agricultural development and established the Twin Falls Canal Company to manage water distribution.
